Life in today’s world can be stressful, placing a burden on our time and on our health.  If you find yourself constantly tired, dissatisfied and struggling to keep up with the demands of your lifestyle, you would benefit from an evaluation of the source of your stress and a plan to address it.  Stress management counselling is a specialized skill I have developed over years in practice.

Everyone experiences stress from time to time, but when it is ongoing, it can negatively impact our emotional, mental and physical health and become unbearable. Chronic stress contributes to a myriad of health issues. Research has linked high stress levels to:

 

  • insomnia or hypersomnia

  • reduced or increased appetite

  • self-medicating with drugs or alcohol

  • changes in mental health

  • decreased productivity and enjoyment at work

  • decreased intimacy

  • chronic pain

  • migraine headaches

  • anger issues

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • decreased enjoyment in social activities

  • heart attack and stroke
