Policies and Fees
The following is meant to provide you with the most essential pieces of information about my work. If you have a question that is not answered here, please feel free to ask me by using the form under the Contact tab.
How long is a session?
Sessions are generally 60 minutes in length, but we can discuss what works for you.
What if I am late?
As much as possible, sessions begin and end on time. In the event of lateness of less than 15 minutes, the session will go ahead and will end on time, with no reduction in fee. If our starting time is made later than 15 minutes, the session will be re-scheduled and the full fee for the session is payable.
How much is the fee?
The standard fee is $150 in Canadian currency (the amount in other currencies to be determined at time of service), and is payable before the session begins by email transfer. If email transfer is not available or not possible, we will discuss an alternative. Recovery coaching (see tab under "Services"), workshops and other programs and plans outside of the one-hour appointment will be individually priced depending on various factors. My services are not covered by third-party insurance plans.
Cancelling and rescheduling sessions
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please give as much notice as you can; there is a minimum requirement of 24 hours to avoid paying the full fee.
Your right to confidentiality will be respected at all times, including the safekeeping of written notes and verbal exchanges. Just as in psychotherapy, information will never be shared without the client’s formal, written and signed permission. The exception to absolute confidentiality is requirement by law to disclose, as in the following cases:
the client indicates they are at serious risk of self-harm or injury to another person
the client discloses child abuse
the client discloses abuse by a health care professional
The time that you book with me is exclusively yours. At any other time, you are welcome to leave a message for me, but it will normally only be answered during working times. Messages left on voicemail and emails will be answered as promptly as possible, usually within 24 hours, unless it is a weekend or holiday.
